Biocell Center carries on Research and Development activities on fetal stem cells from Amniotic Fluid and Chorionic Villi. These cells have many characteristics which make them different and unique compared to other stem cells sources. For example, they have an extremely high proliferation and differentiation capacity – which allows them to replicate into many cellular lines, such as bone, muscle, nerve tissue, cartilage and blood . High proliferation, capacity eliminates ethical dilemma of choice between preservation for private use and donation. Research demonstrates that these cells could be useful in future for applications in the field of regenerative medicine and cellular therapy.
