how it works
The collection and cryo-preservation of the placental stem cells is performed through the detection and extraction of chorionic villi. The process is simple and convenient: a small sample of the placenta that is ejected at birth is enough.
Once the baby is born and the delivery is completed, the physician or the obstetrician can collect the placenta and transfer it into Biocell Center’s sterile kit, that is then sent to Biocell Center’s labs where the sample is screened for stem cell presence and quality. The sample is then cryo-preserved at -196°C for years, at Biocell Center Corporation’s cryo-bank in Massachussetts.
